Our Leadership

Jim Sullivan, President and co-owner of EE, retired from Eastman Kodak in 2007 after 35 years in digital imaging research and business management. Jim served as the COO for Kodak’s Digital Cinema business, the CTO for Kodak’s Laser Pacific and Cinesite Post Production businesses and the CTO/COO for Kodak’ Theme Park business. He holds numerous patents in digital color imaging and has brought his system and cinema imaging knowledge and business leadership to EE.

Sanwal Sarraf, co-owner of EE, received his PhD in Laser Engineering from the University of Rochester in 1979 and after teaching at Penn State University joined Eastman Kodak in 1984. Sanwal led digital printing research labs at Kodak and served as the General Manager of Kodak’s Graphics Division. He joined JDS Uniphase as CTO in 1999 and was the Chief Innovation Officer at the Whirlpool Corporation before joining EE in 2008. Sanwal holds numerous patents in digital imaging systems and has brought his broad imaging device knowledge and business leadership to EE.

Tom Bond, Vice President of Engineering, left Eastman Kodak after 25 years of software development and leading digital imaging software product teams. Tom had a lead position in Kodak’s software development for its theater advertising and motion picture digital systems. Tom has key expertise in real time programming and network system integration and has brought those skills to EE to build it suite of easy to use, high quality solutions.

Rod Heckaman, Color R&D Director, left Eastman Kodak after 30 years in research. Rod received his PhD from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Color Science in 2009. RIT offers the only PhD program in Color Science in the world. Rod is an associate professor at RIT supporting EE. All RIT color project work sponsored by EE is the sole property of EE.

Bobby Culpepper, Vice President of Business Development and co-owner of EE, has significant operational experience in technology businesses including a number of startups. He was the VP of Information Technology and CIO for Phillips 66 Company, a Division of Phillips Petroleum Company. He worked for Phillips for 20 years. He also served as the VP of Business Development for Marsys a large maritime information system provider, and consulted and held board positions for a number of Fortune 500 companies.

David Long, Image Scientist, joined the faculty of the School of Film and Animation at Rochester Institute of Technology in 2007, where he is currently Program Chair and Assistant Professor for the BS Motion Picture Science program. Previous to RIT, Long worked as a Development Engineer and Imaging Scientist with Kodak’s Entertainment Imaging Division. At Kodak, his primary responsibilities included new product development and image science and systems integration for the motion picture group, focusing on film and hybrid imaging products. Long contributed to the design and commercialization of the Vision2 family of color negative films, as well as several digital and hybrid imaging products for television and feature film post-production. His work has earned him numerous patents and a 2008 Scientific & Technical Academy Award for contributions made to the design of Vision2 films.

David Monks, Vice President of Business Development, is a former Eastman Kodak Company executive who has served as CEO of several companies and has more than 30 years experience in imaging technology. At Kodak, he was Director of Photographic Technology and President and General Manager of Electronic Prepress Systems, a software division that developed image systems for large-scale publishers and printers. Additionally, he has been the CEO of ACSYS, Inc, the CEO of GammaGraphX, Inc., an Inc.500 imaging software company, and the CEO of equilibrium. David holds an MBA from the Rochester Institute of Technology and he received a Bachelor of Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he received the Goddard Award for exceptional business achievement.
